A fun first step into artistic swimming
For ages 5-9* | No artistic swimming experience needed

NEXT TERM: September to December, 2026
Registration opens in June
The London Regional Artistic Swimming Aqua Go! program is designed for boys and girls, aged 5-8 yrs with little to no artistic swimming experience who are interested in trying the sport of artistic swimming, and learning specific skills in a fun way, as part of team environment. Your child will find an inclusive, safe and welcoming environment where they will have fun both outside and inside the pool. They will learn important basic skills that are great for recreational time in the water, but also set in place the foundation for any aquatic or artistic endeavour they might choose to pursue:
AquaGO! is taught in a group lesson by certified instructors, with program assistants providing additional safety, motivation, enthusiasm, and individualized support to the participants. Children are taught using games, music and equipment in a fun, active atmosphere. To keep them engaged and motivated, AquaGO! has built in awards and incentives to encourage children as they progress.
Choosing The Right Level For Your Swimmer
Finding the right balance of confidence and challenge.
Why early entry matters:
Artistic swimming benefits from early entry because swimmers gradually build comfort in the water, body control, flexibility, rhythm, coordination, sculling, and confidence moving in different positions. This does not mean early pressure or intense training. In AquaGO!, early entry looks like games, music, movement, creativity, and playful skill-building.
These skills help children in artistic swimming, but they also support life outside the sport. Swimmers learn to listen, follow instructions, work with others, try new things, manage challenges, and feel more confident in the water. The result is a stronger foundation for swim lessons, other sports, summer water activities, school, and everyday confidence.
Active Start (Levels 1-2)
Recommended age:* 5-7
Best for younger swimmers who are newer to artistic swimming and are building comfort, confidence, and independence in the water.
Your child may be ready for Levels 1–2 if they enjoy being in the water, are learning to float, kick, blow bubbles, put their face in, follow simple instructions in a group, and have little or no artistic swimming experience.
Swimmers will work on water confidence, floating, breathing, kicking, basic positions and sculling, flexibility, coordination, and movement to music.
Tentative Session Times:** Saturdays 4:30-5:30pm at Canada Games Aquatic Centre (subject to change)
FUNdamentals 1 (Levels 3-4)
Recommended age:* 6–9
Best for swimmers who are comfortable in the water and ready for more structure, more skill development, and more artistic swimming-specific movements.
Your child may be ready for Levels 3–4 if they can swim short distances independently, are comfortable floating on their front and back, can participate confidently in deep water, and are ready to learn more detailed body positions and corrections.
Swimmers will work on agility, balance, coordination, speed, body control, strokes, rollovers, sculling and artistic swimming positions, eggbeater introduction, musical timing and routine foundations.
Tentative Session Times:** Saturdays 5:30-6:30pm at Canada Games Aquatic Centre (subject to change)
FUNdamentals 2 (Levels 5-6)
Recommended age:* 8–10
Best for swimmers with previous AquaGO! or artistic swimming experience, or strong swimmers who are ready for a higher challenge and more advanced skill combinations.
Your child may be ready for Levels 5–6 if they are confident swimming independently in deep water, can follow multi-step instructions, have developed basic artistic swimming positions and sculling skills, and are ready to build stamina, propulsion, and routine sequences.
Swimmers will work on strong propulsion and endurance, advanced sculling and eggbeater technique, longer routine sequences and transitions, confidence, teamwork, and performance skills.
Tentative Session Times:** Sundays 2:30-3:30pm at Western University Recreation Centre (subject to change)
