The London Regional Artistic Swimming Club (LSC) provides instruction in artistic/synchronized swimming for the London and surrounding communities. The Club provides well-designed opportunities to foster the development of technical and artistic skills of individuals and teams in an inclusive environment for swimmers to reach their potential in recreational and competitive programs. With the active participation of every swimmer, coach, and parent, the London Regional Artistic Swimming Club aspires to be a top Ontario club.
Position Description:
LSC is currently seeking a passionate leader who will dedicate time, energy and enthusiasm to oversee the Club’s recreational programming (includes AquaGo!, Regional League and Masters) and assist our coaches in developing well rounded individual athletes, and strong, collaborative teams. The Recreational Head Coach reports to the Head Coach and will lead the club in recreational programming design and delivery, will mentor coaches and encourage them in the development of their teams, will contribute significantly to the growth and development of the club and will provide guidance to the LSC Board in policy and management decisions. This is a full year, part-time role with approximately
8-10 hours per week. Hours may fluctuate depending on time of year (on/off season). The Recreational Head Coach position is exclusive of coaching. If the Recreational Head Coach participates as a coach, additional compensation will be provided for coaching hours.
This role includes the following responsibilities:

Design and deliver and promote LSC recreational programming

Effectively collaborate with the Head coach to assist in the creation and planning of events and training opportunities

Communicate with Ontario Artistic Swimming regarding Regional League programming/competitions

Support and facilitate Try Art Swim sessions for recruitment of new club members
-
Support recreational coaches to ensure effective organization of team communication, training and competitions
-
Ensure club policies and procedures are being implemented at the recreational coach/athlete level
-
Payroll - input recreational coach shifts and approve schedules

Organize and attend recreational coach meetings

Support recreational club coaches to ensure effective organization of team communication, training, competitions and watershows

Collaborate and work closely with the LSC Executive members and Head Coach

Attend LSC Board meetings and provide updates

Address and respond to emails and other forms of communication in a timely manner

Apply effective conflict resolution strategies
Minimum requirements:
-
Completion of Competitive Intro certificate
-
Current Police Record Check
-
Thorough understanding of recreational synchro programming in Ontario through involvement in the sport and/or experience in coaching

3+ years of coaching artistic swimming
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, abilities and experience:

NLS completion

Enrollment in Competitive Development coaching certification an asset

Personal skills to guide and inspire individuals/groups towards achieving goals

Effectively organizes and prioritizes work; balancing resources, skills, priorities and timescales to achieve objectives

The ability to focus oneself and others on achieving specific outcomes and improve performance

The ability to receive and give feedback to advance own skills and abilities; and that of others

The ability to collaborate with a wide range of people, manage individual and team interactions and dynamics effectively and build long term trusting relationships

Knowledge of public relations and marketing techniques
